Socratic Method
Why take a chance?
If you don't, you'll go nowhere in life. If you talk to anyone who's gotten anywhere in life they're not going to tell you that they just sat around waiting for success, it was hard work and determination.
What if you fail?
Well that's what taking a chance is all about. If it works out for you, GREAT! If not, well life goes on and there will be other chances.
What if you fail all the time at what you're trying to accomplish?
It should make you strive to make you better. Trial and error.
Rhetorical Triangle
Logic - When you take a chance on something, you have to keep reality in your mind at least a little because sometimes even the most practical chances don't work.
Spontaneity - However, you have to balance a little bit of spontaneity into chances because that's basically what a chance is. Not planned.
Confidence - People will think you are, whatever you think you are, so in order for people to take you seriously or anything you'll need confidence.
Allegory:
Bull Riding Arena.
The arena is the chance you take.
The waiting pin is our lives, and if you stay in there, you'll never know what could happen.
Sometimes you get hurt but sometimes, you last and could do something great. It is possible to survive.
